Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag has provided team news for United v Liverpool ahead of Monday’s huge Premier League clash against rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford.
Manchester United and Liverpool are both winless in their opening two games this season, with Ten Hag still searching for his first top-flight points in England whiles Liverpool have managed two draws this season.
Having missed two of United’s opening games through a hamstring injury during pre-season, our manager, Ten Hag has revealed that Anthony Martial has returned to training at Carrington but it remains to be seen whether Martial will be involved on Monday night.
Ten Hag told the media on Friday;
“Victor has not returned to the training pitch but the good news is that Anthony Martial is back in training with the team. Facundo Pellistri has also been ruled out with injury until September.”
Aside from that, the squad should be similar to the trip to west London last weekend although, of course, everyone is hoping for a better outcome this time around against Liverpool who are without their summer signing Darwin Nunez.
Nunez is serving the first part of a three-match ban for violent conduct after headbutting Crystal Palace’s Joachim Andersen. Thiago Alcantara, Diogo Jota, Ibrahima Konate and Joel Matip are also among those currently on the sidelines due to injury.
