Former Manchester United forward Louis Saha has slammed Wayne Rooney for singling out Cristiano Ronaldo for Man Utd’s woes as the club fight for a top 4 finish under caretaker manager, Ralf Rangnick.
Saha believes that Ronaldo is the best player at Manchester United currently. The Frenchman believes that Manchester United should develop young athletes around Ronaldo to assist them in their development.
Louis Saha believes Wayne Rooney was “wrong” to suggest the Red Devils should move on from Cristiano Ronaldo at the end of the season and attract young and talented players to fight for titles.
He told BoyleSports EPL;
“I don’t understand. I’m a bit surprised. To target Cristiano Ronaldo and say we need to move on is wrong. Why don’t we build young players around Cristiano? Let them learn and improve around him. If those players cannot improve and grow then they are not good enough. I don’t agree at all and I think Cristiano has done an enormous sacrifice, but under criticism, he has done well. The team hasn’t played well and I don’t like Cristiano being targeted.”

Manchester United’s most prolific goal-scorer Wayne Rooney suggested that the Red Devils should look to attract youngsters and eager players, which led to a reaction from Cristiano Ronaldo calling him jealous.
Meanwhile, The Red Devils have scouted Darwin Nunez who was the goal scorer for Benfica at the end of their 3-1 loss against Liverpool in the Champions League. Erik Ten Hag is also nearing signing his contract at Old Trafford with a few potential transfer targets in his sights.
