Interim boss, Ralf Rangnick has spoken about Cristiano Ronaldo‘s future at Manchester United.
Cristiano Ronaldo rejoined United from Juventus at the beginning of the season and has been the club’s top scorer in the 2021/22 season with 21 goals in all competitions so far, including a hat-trick over the weekend against Norwich.
The Portuguese scored a stunning hat-trick to lead Manchester United to a 3-2 win over Norwich City on Saturday, taking his Premier League tally to 15 goals as the club fights for a top-four finish.
Despite being Manchester United’s main man this season, there are reports that Erik Ten Hag, who is the favourite to take over at Old Trafford next season, does not want Ronaldo in his team.
Interim Man Utd tactician, Ralf Rangnick after the game on Saturday was unwilling to address the situation, stating that the next club manager will decide on Cristiano Ronaldo’s future.
“It’s not my decision,” Rangnick told reporters. “Cristiano has another year of contract. It’s a decision for the new manager to take with the board.
“He showed today and against Tottenham, he can be the difference-maker in games like this and It’s no coincidence he has the best goal-scoring record of all players in history.”
Despite his success this season, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Manchester United as a team have struggled to fight for any trophy this season. CR7 has an option of extending his current contract with United but all will be decided at the end of the season.
