MANCHESTER United forward Mason Greenwood will be able to determine if he’s facing charges of rape within the next few days. Greater Manchester Police will submit an inquiry for the Crown Prosecution Service “imminently” following the arrest of Mason Greenwood in January.
The decision is expected to be made shortly after. 20-year-old Greenwood was detained for suspicion of sexual assault, rape and threat to kill, and assault earlier this year. He was kept for three days prior to being released on bail.
The £75,000-a-week star was banned by United following his arrest. The club took his merchandise from sale in the club’s shop. Nike stopped its sponsorship agreement with him, and his name was dropped off in the FIFA Video game.
Yesterday a source said:
“He’s still on bail but things are at an advanced stage. The police and CPS are currently discussing if there is a case or not to bring against him. There comes a point where a decision has to be made and things have reached that point.”

Police arrived at Greenwood’s £14,000-a month Cheshire mansion on January 31, after a woman had posted allegations of physical violence and sexual harassment through social media platforms, Twitter and Snapchat.
The footballer was arrested for alleged rape and assault on a student aged 18. The footballer was arrested again on February 2 in connection with the sexual assault of a woman and threat to murder but was released on bail pending further investigations.
