Marcus Rashford was omitted from the Manchester United starting XI to take on Leicester last weekend, despite Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani being out of the game due to injuries.
It is believed that the Manchester United hierarchy are desperate to convince Marcus Rashford to stay at Old Trafford despite his relationship with the club getting more difficult, according to reports.
Rashford has been through a tough season following his return from shoulder surgery. He has only scored five goals in his 28 games and his relationship with the interim manager has also reached a low point.
There are reports that Rashford has thought about moving away from United. Paris Saint-Germain, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are monitoring the situation, The Sun reports. But, the club’s chiefs are reported to have stated that they will continue to view Rashford as part of their future, with the arrival of a new manager who will take the reins.

Erik Ten Hag is likely to be revealed as the new permanent manager towards the end of the season. The possibility of working with the new coach may convince Rashford to remain. The report states that all candidates who were interviewed for the position were informed that academy graduates shouldn’t be allowed to leave.
Rashford will reach the end of his contract in just a little more than a year’s time, but there’s the possibility of extending his contract to another season. There is still a lot of uncertainty regarding United’s approach ahead of an exciting summer.
