Man United transfer target Christopher Nkuku has been voted Bundesliga Player of the Season for the 2021/22 season. The RB Leipzig star beat competition from the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Erling Haaland, and Patrik Schick to the coveted prize.
The 24-year-old was one of the six players to win the Bundesliga Player of the Month award. The only difference is he won the award for a single-season record four times – in October 2021, February, March, and April 2022.
Nkuku scored 20 goals in 34 Bundesliga appearances whilst producing 13 assists as Leipzig finished fourth.
It was Nkuku’s best season in his senior career, having also played a key role for Leipzig in Europe, where he scored 11 goals and provided three assists across 12 UEFA Champions League and Europa appearances.
Understandably, many top European clubs are now set to be after the Frenchman with United thought to have made him one of their targets for the summer, though any final decision won’t be made until Erik ten Hag has had his say.
