Graeme Souness, a Scottish former professional football player and manager, and the current pundit on Sky Sports has said Manchester United signing Casemiro is a ‘mistake’ and says he’s ‘never been a great player.
Casemiro has completed his medical tests session in Manchester and he’s just waiting for a visa to be sorted, as a contract until June 2026 with an option for the further season has been already completed.
However, former Liverpool captain, Graeme Souness isn’t convinced the Brazilian will improve Erik ten Hag’s side who prepare to face Liverpool at Old Trafford on Monday night.
On talkSPORT, he said:
“Casemiro’s played with great players but he’s never been a great player. He’s 30 years old and at £60m or £70m it is too much money. I don’t see him making United any better when they have the ball.”
The Brazilian has agreed to a huge move to Old Trafford which could be worth £70m after add-ons, having expressed a desire to experience a new challenge following a seven-year spell at the Bernabeu which yielded countless trophies.
