Brazilian midfielder, Casemiro has signed for Manchester United from Real Madrid for an initial €60 million fee plus £10m add-ons on a four-year deal with the option of an additional 1-year extension.
Speaking at his farewell press conference, the Brazilian confessed that he came to the decision to leave Real Madrid in the aftermath of last season’s Champions League final, and touched on his reasons for wanting to join United.
When asked if his decision to join Manchester United was down to the bumper contract handed to him, Casemiro responded in the negative and revealed his utmost reason for joining Man Utd this summer.
“It’s only a few people who think that, but people are wrong if they believe that and they don’t know me. That’s the last thing they should think about. I am joining the biggest club in England. I can’t wait to play with Cristiano again, I hope Cristiano stays, I want to play with him again. He’s incredible.”
The Brazilian brings experience and a winning mentality to Man United, having won a number of trophies – including the prestigious Champions League an incredible five times.
Casemiro could make his Man United debut next weekend at Southampton, with the Red Devils hoping to complete the transfer before their game against Liverpool on Monday.
